Author guidelines

Scope and Aim
The Journal of Traditional and Integrative medicine (J-TIM), a peer-reviewed open access publication, intends to provide international biomedical researchers and clinicians with an open forum to disseminate important new information in all aspects of experimental and clinical medicine. Journal of Traditional and Integrative medicine (J-TIM) is covered by major abstracting and indexing services and welcomes submissions from authors worldwide. Six issues annually feature original research articles, review articles, case reports, and Letter to the Editor. The Journal also accepts perspective articles on medicolegal and socioeconomic aspects of medicine. Manuscripts with clinical and public health implications and manuscripts with innovative ideas and/or approaches that bridge different fields are considered with priority.
General Requirements
All submitted manuscripts should contain original research that has not been previously published partly or in full in print or electronic format and are currently not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts from any country are welcome, but must be written in English. Journal of Traditional and Integrative medicine (J-TIM) also publishes reviews which are mainly by invitation. Original articles should summarize results of a complete, rigorously designed study supported by experimental and/or clinical data. The recommended length for a full-length article is 3,000 to 5,000 words, excluding abstract, references, tables, or figures. Case reports are intended to shed light on unusual cases and promote knowledge about unknown or novel disease processes or manifestations, which help contribute to a better understanding of such diseases, or provide up-to-date knowledge about rare and uncommon diseases. Submissions should not normally exceed 2,000 words or three published pages including figures, diagrams and references. Letter to the Editor is usually written to comment on a current controversial issue or express the viewpoint of the writer, and it should be limited to 2,000 words.
Preparation of the Manuscript
Manuscripts should be typed in 1.5 space (12 pt, Times New Roman font preferred) on one side of the bond paper f 22×28 cm. Use SI units, and give equivalent SI units in parenthesis when the use of other units is unavoidable. Symbols should conform to standard guidelines.
Title
It should be short & informative (15 pt), to be typed in only first letter of the first word capital; also, after colon or hyphen, first letter of the first word capital. Latin names are to be given in italics.
Keywords
Five or six keywords indicating the contents of the manuscript.
Authors
Names of authors to be typed in first letters capital (10 pt).
Addresses of Authors
Addresses of the institution of all authors and correspondence should be indicated with an asterisk (*)
Main Headings
Each manuscript should be divided into the following main headings (typed in bold, first letters capital, on the left hand side of the page; 12 pt):
1. Abstract,
2. Introduction,
3. Methodology,
4. Results,
5. Discussion,
6. Acknowledgement,
7. References.
Sub-Headings
Typed in flush left, bold, first letters capital (10 pt).
Sub-Sub Headings
Bold-Italics, first letters capital (9 pt).
Abstract
Should be brief not exceeding 250 words
Introduction
A brief and precise literature review with objectives of the research undertaken and essential background be given.
Methodology
Methodology should include location of survey area, the source and nature of material, experimental design and the techniques employed.
Results
Results should contain data, which are essential for drawing main conclusion from the study. Wherever needed, the data should be statistically analyzed. Same data should not be presented in both table and figure form.
Discussion
The discussion should deal the interpretation of the results. Wherever possible, results and discussion can be combined.
Tables
Tables should be typed in neatly, numbered consecutively. The table headings should be typed with the first letter capital (Eg. Table . 1 Medicinal chemistry of plants).
Figures
The illustrations, photographs, etc. will be accepted in JPEG format . numbered consecutively.
Captions and legends to illustrations should be typed on clearly.
Acknowledgement
For ethnobotanical/ethnomedicinal reports, authors are advised to acknowledge the Knowledge Providers for providing valuable information and share their compilation and findings with the Knowledge Providers in local language. Authors are also requested to ensure that Prior Informed Consent (PIC) was taken from the Knowledge Providers as per the CBD guidelines. If any unique practices are observed which have not been reported hitherto, this fact should be brought to the notice of knowledge providing community and/or individuals and only after sharing with them the implications of putting the same in public domain, these should be published.
References
References should be cited in the text by the consecutive numbers of their occurrence; the numbers are to be shown as superscript at the end of the statement related to that particular reference,
e.g. Folk medicines were found to play an important role in rural healthcare system in Bahirdar Zuria district Northwestern Ethiopia5.
Following the same sequence of the text, the list of references be appended under the References heading. Each reference should provide names and initials of all the authors, giving coma in between the authors and ‘&’ before the last author. In case, the authors are more than five, then use et al after the 5th author. It should be followed by title of the paper,

Reporting clinical Trials
Randomized controlled trials should be presented according to the CONSORT guidelines. At manuscript submission, authors must provide the CONSORT checklist accompanied by a flow diagram that illustrates the progress of patients through the trial, including recruitment, enrollment, randomization, withdrawal and completion, and a detailed description of the randomization procedure. The CONSORT checklist and template flow diagram can be found on http://www.consort-statement.org.
Manuscript Handling Fee
Journal is a self-supporting organization and does not receive funding from any institution/government. Hence, the management of the Journals is solely financed by the handling fees received from authors. The manuscript handling fees are required to meet operations expenses such as employees’ salaries, internet services, web hosting, application development and support, electricity etc. Being an Open Access Publisher, it does not receive payment for subscription as the journals are freely accessible over the internet.
Authors are required to pay a fair manuscript handling fee for the processing of their articles. However, there are no submission charges or Article processing fees. Authors are required to make payment only after their manuscripts have been accepted for publication.
This is the publication fee for J-TIM journal. For Indian author, we are charging Rs.2300 only and others 4500(Indian rupees) declaring that we will never charge more than this and not having any hidden fee charges in any mode.
